The only solution for dandruff is shampoos. However, most of the times people spend a lot of money in shampoos that are available in the market and don’t get the desired results. People have even suffered a lot after applying the shampoos that are available in the market. These shampoos are made from different chemicals which doesn’t suit each and every hair type even though it claims the same. Because of the unwanted chemicals present in these shampoos the hair quality is affected. Such reactions can also lead to hair loss. Thus it is advisable to use homemade shampoos. There are various recipes for preparing homemade shampoos. However the most prevalent is the soapwart shampoo. Soapwart is a homemade shampoo which is suitable for almost all types of hair. This shampoo has proved effective because of its contents. It contains saponins which has the similar characteristics of soap. Therefore it produces lather when it is agitated. Anyways in order to prepare this shampoo you will require 1 and ½ tablespoons of dried soapwart root which is in the chopped form. You will also require 2 cups of distilled water and 2 teaspoons of lemon verbena or else 2 teaspoons of Catnip. Lemon Verbena is actually added so as to give the shampoo a citrus fragrance and catnip which has been added in the shampoo will encourage a healthy hair growth. Once you have collected all the ingredients boil the water and when the water is about to boil add soapwart. Then cover it for 20 minutes and then remove from heat. Add the herb and then let the mixture to cool down. Now store the shampoo in a cool dark place and make sure that you use the whole of it within 8-10 days.
